9/11/01 and Isaiah 9:10

In a recent copy of Coffee Talk Light News (September 11, 2015), an article by Lee Griffith caught my eye. I have used Mr. Griffith’s appropriate title of his article for this post. In his piece, Mr. Griffith notes that more lives were lost in the 9/11 attack on the U.S. than in the attack on Pearl harbor. He notes, “There is actually a shocking similarity between the 9/11 attack on our nation and something that happened in ancient history.

Iran & Palestine Getting Chummy on Common Goal

An important, but almost completely ignored, development took place recently in the Middle East. I believe it comes as a direct result of the agreement between the West and Iran regarding its nuclear program. It has powerful prophetic implications. To date, Iran’s dominating influence has been exerted mainly among Shi’ite Muslims. The fact that Shi’ites comprise just 15% of the world’s Muslims – the other 85% are Sunni – has helped to restrain Iran’s global influence. It has effectively kept

A Warning to Those Who Abandon Israel

Throughout Scripture and history, there have been severe consequences for the lack of recognizing the importance of Israel, God’s chosen people and nation. Here is what Greg Laurie says in his book “Signs of the Times” : Looking into the future of the Jewish race, God told the Patriarch Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.” And so it has been through history. Every nation that has risen up to strike

How the Truth Is Hidden For Some & Revealed For Others

In his article, “Jesus’ Surprising Use of Parables“, John Koessler (chair and professor of pastoral studies at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago) shows how the parables Jesus spoke were specially designed to reveal the truth of His mission to some while actually hiding it from others.  In his gospel, Mark writes (Mark 4:11-12): He [Jesus] said to them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables, so that although

Obedience: Government vs. God

from A.D. The Bible Continues: The Revolution That Changed the World [2] When the Sanhedrin demanded that Peter stop preaching about Jesus, Peter shot back a telling question: “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?”  (Acts 4:19).  At some point today, believers will face this question as well.  And as Western governments drift further away from godly principles, it will be something we face more often and with more serious consequences. Christ made it clear

A Nation Turns

On Friday, June 26th, the Supreme Court of the United States overrode the states and the voters when the justices, by a single vote, imposed legalized, same-sex marriage on all America. The resulting dissension it caused among the minority members of the court is almost unprecedented. Some of you may be wondering right now, “How can this legal development have ‘prophetic implications’? Don’t tell me this is going to usher in the Antichrist!” Well, maybe. And not because the recent

U.S.A. – While You Were Sleeping

Just in my lifetime, I have seen an unbelievable increase in the ignorance of God’s word in America.  Just today, Congress stepped out of its own lawful bounds to impose a new law re-defining marriage.  God invented not only the word “marriage”, but defined it for us.  Yet in defiance of a Divine definition, members of a government went out of their way to change God’s definition to something that “better fit” lifestyles in the U.S.A. It’s just these lifestyle

Prophecies Being Fulfilled Right Now

All readers should find this information useful.  Depending on your belief system, it should rank somewhere between mildly and critically interesting.  We are talking here of things changing rapidly and everywhere. E A R T H Q U A K E S If there is one sign associated with the last days, it’s earthquakes.  According to Jesus in Matthew 24:7, Mark 13:8, and Luke 21:11, there will be great earthquakes in various places.  The number of massive earthquakes is actually

U.S. Intervention Leads to Persecution of Christians

Every year, an organization called Open Doors publishes its “World Watch.” It includes a list of the fifty countries in the world guilty of the worst persecution of Christians. This year, North Korea and Somalia topped the list. Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan rounded out the top five. That means that the United States is heavily involved with three of the five worst offenders in the world. Further, Libya was placed in the category of “Extreme Persecution” and Egypt received a

The Hatred of an Innocent People

Simply put, the world hates Israel. It can’t help itself. It does so out of instinct. It hates Israel because it hates God. And God knew that would happen, that’s why He offered a promise of protection for His people. He said that He would bless those who blessed His people and curse those who cursed them. There’s no other logical reason why Israel should be the pariah nation it is. It is a pro-American, Western-style, capitalist democracy. It has
