Magog at the Door

A few weeks ago, Hal Lindsey discussed the Russian-Iranian led coalition of nations described in Ezekiel 38 (read article here). Just since that time, some mind-boggling activities have taken place. The Russian military has moved in troops, heavy armor, fighter jets, anti-aircraft batteries, missiles, and Navy ships to Syria – and has begun bombing targets in Syria!  In this article, Hal reveals that this very endeavor foreshadows a specific prediction by God through His servant Ezekiel over 2500 years ago!

from The Hal Lindsey Report – September 28, 2015

The Russians have had military cooperation with Syria for a long time, but the present operation is beyond anything Russia has ever done in the Middle East.

At first, the Russians denied that any extra men or material was going to Syria, but that’s S.O.P. for them.

Now, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has finally admitted to some limited military presence in Syria. But he says Russia is there only to fight ISIS, not bolster Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad.

Of course, assisting Syria’s beleaguered army to defeat his enemies will certainly bolster Assad’s chances of hanging on to power.

There’s no doubt that Russian president Vladimir Putin also sees this as an opportunity to extend Russia’s influence into the oil rich Middle East. And, of course, it’s a chance to support Russia’s other ally in the region: Iran.

In Bible prophecy, Russia and Iran are known as Magog and Persia.  Syria sits on Israel’s northeast border. Folks, this puts Magog’s army next door to Israel.

I do not believe this is the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38, yet. But it strongly foreshadows it. The pieces are falling into place before our eyes.  The alliances of the end times are being formed right now.
