The Hatred of an Innocent People

Simply put, the world hates Israel. It can’t help itself. It does so out of instinct. It hates Israel because it hates God. And God knew that would happen, that’s why He offered a promise of protection for His people. He said that He would bless those who blessed His people and curse those who cursed them. There’s no other logical reason why Israel should be the pariah nation it is. It is a pro-American, Western-style, capitalist democracy. It has

Today’s “Laodicean Church”

Paul famously described these days in his second letter to Timothy. He says in part, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive… ungrateful, unholy… without self-control… treacherous… conceited… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God….” I won’t go on, but, believe me, it’s a letter-perfect description of present day America. You can read it for yourself at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NIV). The second passage is

Christianity and the Bible are under attack in U.S.

Both Christianity and the Bible are under attack in these last days in ways we could never have imagined just a generation ago. Dan Cathy, CEO of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain is learning that unfortunate fact the hard way. In an interview with the “Baptist Press,” Mr. Cathy ventured to express his personal opinion about traditional marriage. Uh-oh. That was a mistake, because Mr. Cathy believes in the Biblical definition of marriage: one man and one woman. Further, Cathy believes

Moore’s Law and Scripture

Moore’s Law says that computer capacity doubles every 18 months. That’s why your laptop is obsolete by the time you figure it out! Columbus sailed to the new world 1,500 years after the Apostle Paul made his Mediterranean journey. Both sailed on wooden ships with sails. In fact, men traveled in wooden sailing ships until the end of the 19th century. One hundred years later, those same weeks-long trips take a few hours by air. 1,900 years from Paul’s ship

The Rebirth of Israel in 1948

In 606 B.C. Israel (Judah) was taken into captivity by Babylon for exactly 70 years.  Therefore, the end of the captivity, according to the Bible and other historical sources – including Flavius Josephus, a first-century Romano-Jewish historian – occurred in the month of Nisan in the spring of 536 B.C.  This is the starting point of the fulfillment of one of the most amazing prophecies in all of history! The Prophecy Regarding the Siege of Israel (Ezekiel 4:1-8 ESV) “And

One Way Out

Many nowadays think that any talk of the exclusivity of Jesus Christ is intolerant and unloving and could even be considered by the politically correct as “hate speech.” The thought that He is the only way to find everlasting life, is seen by them as nothing but religious extremism. As we know, on August the 5th, 2010, part of the San José copper-gold mine in the Atacama Desert near Copiapó, Chile, collapsed, leaving 33 men trapped 2,300 feet under ground.

Covenants: Conditional and Unconditional

To understand God’s plan for the world, it is vital to understand what, at first, may seem like a dry subject – covenants. In the Bible, God makes two kinds of covenants with human beings – conditional and unconditional. A conditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, “If you will.” An unconditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, “I will.” Conditional covenants are like the contracts we humans make among ourselves. “If you give me a
